There are many advantages in vocational institutions but it seems people don’t see it that way.
They have however respected the secondary schools more than that of the vocational which is causing more harm than good to the country.
An interview with Madam Juliana has revealed the good idea behind the vocational institutions.
Madam Juliana Owusu the headmistress of ST. Micheal Vocational Institute at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District said that,it seems the vocational institutions in the country have been thrown away and all concentration is on the secondary school hence making it hard for them to work effectively .
Madam said , since vocational institutions are not many in the country unlike several secondary schools ,we must see to the best of the school and support the students with the needed tools and materials to help them pass through this training successfully .
Again, she added that what we eat, wear or put on are done by Catheress, Tailor’s, Designers and what have you which are mostly thought in the vocational institutions and we depend on these things to make life a better one.
She plead to the government to extend the free SHS to their benefit or extend a helping hand to them in other way aside the free SHS so that needy but skilled and ready students can also enter into vocational training for the a good of all.
She added that, the children enrolled in the vocational institutions are all GHANAIANS hence and they all work for the country perhaps they contribute to nation building and therefore needs to be given some care from the government especially ST. Micheal Vocational Institute to assist them in many areas like classroom, toilet, bathroom and kitchen facilities.
