Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda, the army spokesperson told Xinhua on Saturday that the last convoys of soldiers arrived in the country late on Friday.
“Yes, we are completely out of the South Sudan territory in support of the peace process. We have demonstrated our will for the Addis Ababa peace agreement,” said Ankunda.
Uganda’s troop withdrawal from South Sudan is in compliance with a peace deal signed by South Sudan President Salva Kiir and his former deputy, Riek Machar, now the opposition rebel leader in August.
The 23 month’s conflict has claimed thousands of lives in several parts of the country and displaced hundreds to the neighboring countries. Enditem
