Legendary Highlife Musician Gyedu Blay Ambulley in a recent interview expressed his displeasure with Dancehall artist Stonebwoy’s decision to speak the Jamaican patois in his songs rather than represent his country by speaking a local language.

Ambulley was of the opinion that Stonebwoy was creating somewhat of a limitation for himself, since there are already made Jamaican artists who create music using their indigenous language, furthering that Stonebwoy would be better off using Twi or Ewe in his songs.

Stonebwoy in a reaction to Ambulley’s statement says he welcomes the legend’s suggestions, but times are changing and as music and art is dynamic, things are bound to evolve.
