In a sequel to our previous story on the ongoing Police-Military Joint Swoop expected to take off across the country, a new development has surfaced with a total of over 300 suspects arrested at Madina Zongo Junction , in Accra.
The operation that happened at dawn in the early hours of Monday is a continuation of a clean-up exercise by the Police and the Military to help curb the issue of insecurity in the country.
The Accra Regional Police Operations Commander, Chief Superintendent Samuel Kwesi Ofori has said that the activity was based on intelligence and crime mapping as the suspects are believed to be involved in crimes such and robbery and drug peddling among others.
A similar swoop action was staged in Buduburam with a total of 141 suspects, with 15 of the suspects being female.The action that was also at dawn came as a shock to the suspects as they were reported to have had drugs, heroine and other dangerous susbstances in their possession.
Cases like the murder of Journalist Ahmed Husein-Suale at Madina Zongo Junction , the murder of the two police men, the death of the missing Takoradi girls, and the several other heinous crimes that are happening in the country have become a great threat to citizens, and security institutions are putting in their best efforts to help maintain uttermost sanity in the country.
This action(joint swoop) is however believed to have come up as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of possible attacks on innocent lives.
