Award winning Headmaster of Konongo Odumasi Senior High School (KOSS) in the Ashanti Akim central in the Ashanti region, Mr. Benjamin Kwaku Baah, has revealed that, the school (KOSS) has welcomed close to thousand six hundred fresh students through the computerized school selection and placement system this year.

According to him, all the students have been received by the school and through his hard working staffs all students have been properly taking through their orientation.He said, out of the 1,585 fresh students, 815 of them who had green indications on their placement forms were to begin school this month and 770 of those on gold will begin on the 8th of November this year as far as the free SHS double – track education system is concerned.

Breaking down the number of students and programs offered in the school, the headmaster indicated that, 1,585 students who had the opportunity to the Konongo Odumasi Senior High School will breakdown into the following courses, Business course, visual arts, General arts, General science and Agriculture.Speaking to Pan Africa Tv, the headmaster further indicated, the school has not encountered any big problem in registering the freshers, but noted the only problems were those from long distance who have been placed as day students.

People were of the view that, because of the free education policy and its double – track system, there would be some challenges beyond school authorities control but the headmaster told the media that the administration has not encountered any major problems.

Furthermore, Mr. Benjamin Kwaku Baah commended the NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for it’s swift decision for the introduction of the double track system.

He said, the decision will open doors for all eligible students to have access to good quality education. Because of it double state teachers will get enough time for students due to it’s sizeable number per class.

Also urge all Ghanaians to rally behind the free SHS and the double tracking policy.

Finally, the hard working Head master also hails all pass students for their numerous supports and generosity towards the development of the Konongo Odumasi SHS.
