In the 2015 Presidential Primaries of NDC, John Mahama had 1,199,118 out of 1,260,954 of the total valid votes cast representing 95%.
61,836 delegates voted against him representing 4.9%.
John Mahama used 95% and 1,199,118 delegates votes to garner a paltry sum of 4, 713,277 National votes representing 44.4% in the 2016 Presidential Election.
Fast forward 2019, John Mahama has once again gotten the opportunity to lead the NDC into the 2020 General Elections with a vote of 213, 487 out of total valid votes cast of 224, 184 representing the same 95% in the 2015 Presidential Primaries of NDC. 10, 697 delegates voted against John Mahama in the 2019 Presidential Primaries of NDC representing almost the same 4.8% in the 2015 NDC Presidential Primaries.
Comparing the delegates album of 2015 and 2019 for the NDC Presidential Primaries, mathematically over 1,036, 770 were excluded from the 2019 Presidential Primaries.
In 2015, the total delegates who voted were 1, 260,954 but in 2019 it was drastically reduced to 224,184. It means that there is a shortfall of 1, 036,770 delegates who were prevented from casting their ballots in the 2019 Presidential Primaries.
In the 2016 General Elections, John Mahama only managed to add 3,452, 323 to the 1, 260,954 delegates of NDC in the 2015 Presidential Primaries representing a National votes of 44.4%.
Ahead of the 2020 General Elections, John Mahama now has a deficit of *4,489,093* to clear in order to reach his 2016 performance of 4,713,277 representing the poor performance of 44.4%.
95% in 2015 produced 44.4% for John Mahama in the National Presidential Election and interestingly 95% in 2019 is likely to produce performance of *36-to- 44%* bearing in mind the 4, 489,093 deficit of John Mahama.
Internally, John Mahama has a vote deficit of 1,036 770 comparing the 2019 voters Album of NDC to the 2015 Presidential Primaries and Nationally 4,489,093 comparing his 2019 performance of 224,184 to the 2016 National results of 4,713,277 in order to reach his usual 44.4%.
It is very important to recall that President Akufo-Addo used the Party’s 94% (117, 413 delegates votes) to defeat John Mahama heavily in 2016 in spite of John Mahama’s Party endorsement of 95% (1,199,118 delegates votes).
However, the New Patriotic Party with a good sense of purpose and excellent track record, we will totally defeat John Mahama and NDC again in the 2020 General Elections.
