The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah has been adjudged the best Regional Minister for 2017, by FAKS Investigative Services after securing 91.7 percent, from over 4,000 respondents across the country who took part in a survey.

FAKS Investigative Services is a research and investigative company based in Ghana, and is well noted for its surveys and conducts of opinion polls on officers who are managing the public purse, having one it for six consecutive times.

“As a result of that FAKS through its opinion survey, seeks response from Ghanaians as to who is performing up to standard.

Based on the response from the survey, FAKS ranks the best accordingly”

Mr. Osei-Mensah’s feat has not come as a surprise to residents of the region, with most people expressing satisfaction with the works and performance of the first minister of the Ashanti region under the Presidency of Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Notable amongst his achievements, according to some residents were his sustained singular crusade which saw the scrapping of the Capitation Policy under the NHIS in the region alone, his refusal to allow Exton Cubic into the forest of Atwima Mponua, to mine bauxite.

They also mentioned the Ashanti Regional Minister’s swift responds to issues of the region, which to them, had led to the stable peace in the region.

To social and political commentators, the achievement of the minister has not only given glory to his party, and his office, rather it is a confirmation of the confidence that the good people of Asanteman has in him.

The three months polls which took place between October and December, 2017, had the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan coming 2nd with 89.6 percent from 3,682 respondents.

He was closely followed by Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister who placed 3rd in the polls with 89.2 percent.

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie of the Western Region came 4th while Salifu Saeed, Northern Regional Minister placed 5th to complete the list of five regional ministers selected by the FAKS.

Mr. Fred Yaw Sarpong, the CEO of FAKS announcing in a statement said, even though it is the President of the Republic who appoints majority of these persons to serve Ghanaians but FAKS believes that the citizens are the best to assess the works of the public officials.

The region, therefore congratulates Mr. Osei-Mensah for this feat which has undoubtedly lifted the image of the region and brought respect to the Golden Stool, and urged him to continue to lead the region to its glorious state.
