The great phenomenon that has taken a centre stage of Npp government is the fight of illegal miners (galamsey operators) as their activities have impact on our resources like forest, water bodies and farms that poses health hazards.

Nana Poku Bosompem-Nkawie District Forestry Manager has appeal to Minerals commission as a matter of urgency to make available copies of NEW MINING ACT (2015) passed by Parliament to Media Houses to educate the masses on endangered and implications of galamsey activities.

Nana Bosompem who was adjudged the 2015 National Best District forest Manager said, the pivotal role played by media in nation development cannot be over looked and their engagement will go a long way.

He commended Hon Peter Amewu the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources on his support of combating illegal miners in the country and calls on all stakeholders on board to help the Minister.

Nana Bosompem a keen member of National implementation of Plantation at the Forestry commission said many are ignorant of the new mining act passed and if education is done it will go a long way.
