The arrest of popular NDC serial caller, Frank Kwaku Appiah popularly known as Appiah Stadium by the Ashanti regional police is unconstitutional, Nana Dr Agyenim Boating, founder and leader of United Front Party has stated.
Though, the 2016 flagbearer of UFP condemns the act of the NDC serial caller but indicated that the President is using his autocratic power as the president of the nation to abuse the right of its citizens in the country.
Gyataba, sounding wild said that, Nana Addo should refer the case to his lawyers if indeed he thinks Appiah stadium has no evidence backing his claims that Nana Addo is a chain smoker.
It is evidenced that, the NDC serial caller was arrested today by the Kumasi Central Police Station and was referred to Accra to assist the police with investigations for tagging Nana Addo as a drug addict.
According to Gyataba, Appiah stadium has since rendered an unqualified apology to the President after he claimed in an audio that has gone viral that the President smokes marijuana, popularly known as ‘wee’ but don’t know why the police should arrest him. Gyataba indicated that, most of the NPP serial callers tagged the former president John Dramani Mahama with a lot of unpalatable names but the former president never called for the arrest of any body.
He acted as a true statesman and a father for all but don’t see any sense for the president to arrest the ndc serial caller because he is the president.
He said, Ghana will one day be ungovernable if such acts characterize by the Npp government continues to work.
There could be Change of government anytime and you know the bad implications of it, Gyataba further fumed.
Nana Agyenim Boating maintained that, Appiah stadium was only expressing his opinion but don’t know why the president should call for his arrest to the extent of referring him to the national police headquarters, Accra.
He is surprised President Akufo-Addo is now using the security to intimidate serial callers in the country.
