An eco-industrial park project has been lunched in Agona in the Sekyere South district of Ashanti region, the project when completed will accommodate over 10000 artisans most especially those in the automobile work by IDA-GH and IDEO FOUNDATION
The project which was initiated by an Industrial Development Organised Foundation (IDOF) a 5 member team to bring artisans on board to have a conducive place to work.The chairman of the Industrial Development Organised Foundation (IDOF) , Mr Robert Ayeteh in his speech said a developed skills of artisans is also one way that can help Ghana to achieve a technological advancement in our age.
He said therefore artisan when they are trained can help boost the Ghana industry culture. Mr Ayeteh said the eco-industrial park project will enhance artisan to have a common place to work.
The 150 acre land which was given out for industrial purposes by the chief of Agona and with the help of the Sekyere south district assembly will be develop as follows, according to them 70 Acres which represents (47%) will be use for built space development, 50 Acres which also represents (33%) will be use for road network and parks and the rest (20%) which stands for 30 Acres will be forest reserves and other natural edifices.
In all this ultramodern ECO park will consist of hospital, police post, auto diogonestic centre, shopping male and a lorry station and more.
Embellishing the occasion, the Wiamoasehene Nana Boakye Yiadom also called on the Nana Akuffo Addo’s government to support this initiative of IDOF and IDEO FOUNDATION and also urged the government that this is a perfect example of one district one factory project to start from Sekyere South.
