The Chief of Kumawu Besoro in the Sekyere Kumawu District of Ashanti, Nana Teng Fori Kwagyan Acheampong III has appealed to the judicial service of Ghana headed by Chief Justice Gloria Akuffo and Kumawumanhene Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah to aid settle court issues surrounding the abandoned community center.
He stated this during a presentation of a hundred desktop and 24 laptop computers to eleven schools in Kumawu Besoro and it’s environs
According to him, the center which is bushy and engulfed with filt has now become a habitant for will animals like snakes, scorpions etc.
He stressed that, not only is the center facing such threat but the facility itself is full of cracks, likely to collapse at any point in time.
Nana Teng Fori Kwagyan Acheampong III lamented that, the center built by Mr Charles Basoah a native of the community who based in London, with the intention that, the community holds social activities to generate revenue for development projects.
Nana Kwagyan III told journalist that, staying under the scorchy sun with the community members for the presentation was shameful.
He continued that, the community center which was supposed to have been used for the events has been facing court issues for the past five years. He said this issues has affected revenue generation.
Nana Teng Fori Kwagyan Acheampong III then urged both the government and individuals to give the needed attention to the education sector.
According to him, education is the bedrock of every developing country, hence effective education can help raise generational thinkers who would be able to uplift the good name of Kumawuman and Ghana as a whole.
He said this gesture which was empowered by Labdoo, a German company was an example to indigence who have had opportunity to travel outside for greener pastures to contribute their quota with the course to develop and groom more academicians for the community.
Nana Kwagyan Acheampong urged the natives of the community who have also had the opportunity to travel outside the country to immitate the footsteps of Labdoo company. The schools which had their shares of cake were Besoro D/A 1 JHS, Besoro D/A 2 JHS, Besoro Methodist JHS, Besoro D/A primary, Besoro Methodist Primary, Besoro R/C Primary and Aninangya Methodist Primary, all these schools had 10 desktop and two laptop computers each.
Again Woraso Presby JHS, Aninangya Methodist had 9 desktop and 2 laptop computers, Woraso D/A and Nkwanta A.M.E Zion JHS had 8 desktops and 2 laptop computers each respectively.
The director of education for Sekyere Kumawu District, Mr Paul Antwi Oppong in an interview with newsmen emphasized that, it has never occurred for one person to donate such an amount of learning equipment to Schools in the community.
The exact amount of the equipments which was not mention by Nana Teng Kwagyan wealth billions of Cedis.
Mr Paul Antwi pleaded with head teachers who received the equipment on behalf of their various schools to secure the equipment and to make good use of it to improve their students academic performance.
He made call to philanthropist to help aid infrastructures of the schools in the community by wiping the students off writing on bare floor.
