The long awaited Eco-Industrial Park project to be at Agona in the Ashanti Region has seen the green light and now operational.
The sod cutting ceremony saw the Agona Traditional council and hundreds of Artisans with the support of the people of Agona and it’s environment.The project was launched last year with the support of the chief and the Agona Traditional Council after the traditional council release over 250 acres of Land to an NGO, IDEO Foundation, and Industrial Development Association of Ghana (IDA-GH) for the project.
According to the executive council of IDEO foundation the project sought to release the burdens of artisans by providing them with plots of land to establish their business.Kumasi and Agona Magazines are choked. Now the chance has come for any artisan who wants a big space to do his work, they added
The Executive Councils of IDEO Foundation, an NGO and Industrial Development Association of Ghana (IDA- GH) told Openghana.com that the project seek to employ over 4,000 workers both direct and indirect.The council is now throwing the challenge to any interested person, group of persons who are in need of Land for any business done at Magazine ranging from auto mechanics, spare parts dealers, assembling of cars and many more to come and register.
This is to embrace the idea of the ruling government’s One District One Factory concept.
